English I love genetics and the fun part about breeding is to get those variations randomly. Here in Sims 4 there's coat layers but they don't really apply to genetics in the area to give new coat colors. It's pretty dissappointing since with the Sims3 there was so much variation and when you did a custom paint you could add more layers and then you got a big variation on the offspring. If they were it would be a little more interesting since the offspring are like carbon copies. The painted on textures come out exactly or with the full coat from the parent too, they aren't left off to the offspring. I've used ones with multiple options for the breeds too and still just the coat colors I've picked. Sometimes I get a coat that is thicker, but the fur patterns are the same. I once got a female with the dad's colorings.
It's almost too like the female pets get the mom's patterns and the males get the dad's.
